Echuca Moama Aero Club School of Aviation
Learn to Fly
The Echuca Moama Aero Club Pty Ltd, trading as Echuca Moama Aero Club, provides training in Recreatinal Aircraft under the auspices of Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus). This training is delivered by our qualified and friendly instructional staff in the environment of a supportive Aero Club.
RAAus, sets the prerequisites for trainee pilots, the syllabus of training to be followed and the standards required for a successful completion of a Recreational Pilot Certificate and associated endorsements.
Training Prerequisites
- To be issued a Student Pilot Certificate, trainees must be a minimum of 15 years of age. There is no maximum age limit providing you meet specified medical requirements.
- Medical Requirements. - have a health standard equivalent to that required for the issue of a private motor vehicle driver licence and provide RAAus with a declaration to that effect.

Important information...
Persons undertaking flying training and other types of flying in Recreational Aircraft are advised that there are risks involved. These risks cannot be specifically quantified however: recreational aircraft used for pilot training are constructed, operated and maintained under exemptions from the regulations.
These exemptions from the regulations that apply to Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) registered aircraft. While similar rule sets apply to our organisation and replaces those that we are exempt from, it must be accepted that the overall safety of recreational flying is generally below the well known commercial air transport standards in Australia.
